ETC Bids Farewell to the Time Lady

After 40 years of being the voice behind Electronic Tele-Communication's Time-Weather-Temperature (TWT) services, Jane Barbe has decided it's time to retire.

Since 1963, Jane was the friendly voice letting you know the current time, temperature and weather for financial institutions, telephone companies and other ETC customers. Jane also let you know when a certain number had been disconnected or changed on ETC announcers.

Originally from Florida, Jane grew up in Atlanta where she now resides. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia where she was also the president of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was active in many campus activities.

Jane was a featured singer with the Buddy Morrow Orchestra. Later, she and her husband went into business creating and producing music for commercials and industrial films and shows. Jane's voice has been featured in many commercial jingles.

In addition to her work in broadcasting, Jane also appeared on "The Mike Douglas Show", "I've Got a Secret", "CBS News" and "Real People" as the "Time Lady" as well as having stared in a "Shake and Bake" commercial.

ETC will miss Jane and wishes her happiness and enjoyment of her retirement.
