ETC Signs OEM and Distribution Agreement with Nortel

Waukesha, WI -- October 28, 1997

ETC (Electronic Tele-Communications, Inc.) announced a distribution agreement with Nortel (Northern Telecom) to supply announcement platforms to customers utilizing Nortel switches. This agreement significantly expands ETC’s access to Nortel’s established and growing worldwide switch market.

"We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with Nortel," said Cynthia Carlson, Vice President and General Manager, ETC. "This agreement clearly attests to ETC’s continuing success in providing quality digital announcements for the telephone network."

ETC’s announcement platforms provide the level of customization and volume of announcements required by access providers. Applications include basic telephone (POTS), changed number, referral number, LNP (Local Number Portability), call completion, current temperature and weather forecasts, voice prompts for services, and emerging network requirements of AIN (Advanced Intelligent Network). These platforms keep pace with the changing telephone network, the growing demand for enhanced telephone services, and the implementation of area code and other numbering plan changes.

ETC supplies voice application processing platforms to domestic and international telephone utilities, and messaging systems to the commercial market. ETC's equipment provides a wide range of audio information and call handling services via the telephone network. With corporate headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin, ETC has operations in Atlanta, Georgia and Pleasanton, California.
