ETC Standardizes on Partitioned Architecture for Digicept 2000 Products

Waukesha, WI -- March 27, 1997

Electronic Tele-Communications, Inc.(ETC) has standardized on the Partitioned Architecture for its Digicept 2000 family of Application Processing Platforms. The Digicept 2000 and 2002 platforms are designed to deliver voice announcements and services through public and private telephone networks. Typical services include current temperature and weather forecasts, changed number and intercept announcements, coin telephone instructions and voice prompts for the use of custom calling features.

The Partitioned Architecture provides for unlimited, incremental system expansion. Additional partitions may be added as needed to provide access and support to new features and services as they are introduced.

The Partitioned Architecture offers full redundancy with cost-effective options for the Digicept 2000 family. N+1 telephony interface and processor redundancy assures continued operation of the system during maintenance procedures. Processors, interfaces and other critical components may be serviced in any partition without removing the system from service.

In addition, centralized administration allows the entire system to be maintained from any single partition. Changes to databases and speech files in any partition may be easily replicated across all partitions in a system. This also allows testing of new features and services in a single partition prior to general availability system-wide.

"The Partitioned Architecture makes the Digicept 2000 one of the most flexible voice announcement systems available today," said Mark Wojnowiak, ETCs Director of Marketing. "It gives the network operator cost-effective options for providing voice services on redundant, highly reliable platforms."

Electronic Tele-Communications is a supplier of Voice Application Processing Platforms to domestic and foreign telephone utilities and of messaging systems to the commercial market.
